Snap Server BakBone NetVault Overview:
BakBone NetVault software is integrated into GuardianOS version 3.0 and higher. This powerful backup and restore software delivers heterogeneous data protection through enterprise-class functionality that scales to meet the demands of any sized environment - from a simple workgroup to a central office data center.
The Workgroup Edition is included with Snap Server 410, 520, and 650 systems. It supports Windows, Linux, Mac, and UNIX clients and has the ability to backup and restore data from up to 5 clients to 4 single tape drives that are locally attached to the Snap Server. You will also receive a free upgrade to a 500GB Virtual Tape Library license, making the Snap Server an optimal backup-to-disk destination.
BakBone NetVault functionality can be expanded to accommodate your environment by adding optional packages to support more clients on the network, protect 24x7 application servers, backup to tape libraries, and perform disaster recovery for faster time to restore. Applications:
- BakBone NetVault WorkGroup Edition provides support
for up to 5 heterogeneous clients to allow distributed backup
to the Snap Server system.
- With a Virtual Tape Library (VTL) of 500GB included,
backup can be from disk-to-disk with later replication to
tape.
- BakBone NetVault WorkGroup Edition also includes and NDMP Client that can be used with NDMP Servers. NDMP Servers are included with Snap Server 650/550/520/510 systems and are optional for Snap Server 410/210/110 systems. The NDMP Client with BakBone NetVault WorkGroup Edition along with the NDMP Servers on other Snap Server or NDMP enabled systems support Local, Remote and 3-way NDMP backup to minimize the need for tape resources for each system.
