Snap Server SANbloc S50 JBOD Product Description:
The Snap Expansion S50 provides cost-effective, flexible
expansion for scalable Snap Server™ storage systems. The S50
comes as an unpopulated JBOD chassis, which can be filled with
up to 12 SAS or SATA drives for a customized mix of price and
performance that fits your specific storage needs. Use the Snap
Expansion S50 to add storage to the Snap Server 520 or 650 systems.
Each Snap Expansion S50 enables you to add between 300GB
and 3.6TB SAS, or 250GB and 12TB SATA storage, so you can right-size
your environment by purchasing only the storage you need. Scalable
Snap Servers can support up to seven Snap Expansion S50 expansion
units, as well as a mix SAS and SATA drives, so you can easily
add storage as your needs grow, while building a truly customized
solution.

Simple
The SnapServer Expansion S50 JBOD provides simple scalability for the SnapServer 620 and 650 storage systems. The SnapServer 620 and 650 can employ the Instant Capacity Expansion (I.C.E.) feature built into GuardianOS™, which enables the new capacity to be instantly available without any disruption to users or applications.

Each SnapServer Expansion S50 enables you to add between 300GB and 3.6TB of SAS, or 250GB and 24TB of SATA storage, so you can right-size your environment by purchasing only the storage you need. Scalable SnapServer NAS systems can support up to seven SnapServer Expansion S50 JBOD arrays, as well as a mix SAS and SATA drives, so you can easily add storage as your needs grow, while building a truly customized solution.
Reliable
Hot-swappable drives and redundant, hot-swappable power and cooling are standard with the SnapServer Expansion S50. Plus, each disk drive has its own dedicated 3GB SAS channel and point-to-point connection. This means that unlike traditional SCSI where all your drives were connected on a common bus and the failure of any drive could hang the entire bus, now a drive failure is isolated to that drive, without spreading to any other connections.
